One of the best Canadian situation comedies of recent years, Kim's Convenience (Kim's Convenience Store) has garnered an international following after being available on Netflix. The series revolves around the Kim family, who run a convenience store in Toronto, Canada.

Like Blockbuster, Kim's Convenience lets audiences explore what it's like to run a dying business. Both comedies also feature staff who aren't really excited about working at the stores even though they're relatively good at the jobs they have.

Fresh off the Boat may be underrated, but it's one of the best comedies to take place in the 1990s. Based on the real life of Eddie Huang, the series Fresh off the Boat explores his life as his family moves from DC's Chinatown to Orlando, so that his father can open a Western-style restaurant.

Randall Park is the star of this whole series, which is why Fresh Off The Boat has become a great comedy for fans who already love Blockbuster. Both comedies also focus on character development in the owner/manager role, and it's interesting to see the characters as both similar and different.
