Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is the opening film for the prequel series in the magical world of Harry Potter, based on the book of the same name by writer J.K. Rowling.
The film is set in 1926, when wizard Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) comes to New York with the goal of researching and protecting magical animals around the world.
