Highschool Of The Dead

Trailer Highschool Of The Dead

Highschool of the Dead can be considered the best zombie anime series to date. It is also very similar to a traditional Western zombie epidemic story, but this does not detract from its appeal and horror.

As the name of Highschool of the Dead suggests, this short series follows five high school students working together to get to safety after their school is invaded by zombies. Highschool of the Dead's fan service can be a bit excessive at times, but its solid character and devotion to actual violence transcend its drawbacks.

Genre: Action, Horror, Ecchi, Supernatural
Characters: Takashi Komuro, Rei Miyamoto, Saeko Busujima, Saya Takagi, Kohta Hirano

School-Live! (Gakkougurashi!)

Trailer School-Live! (Gakkougurashi!)

Cartoon style in School-Live! so adorable that it's hard to believe it's an anime about zombies. This isn't too surprising, though, as the Japanese animation industry often takes a different approach to the zombie genre than it does in the West.

When viewers watch the first episode and see cute school girls doing cute things and learn that they are the only survivors of their school in a post-apocalyptic zombie world, School-Live! may feel different. However, with a score on MyAnimeList of 7.62, entertainment is guaranteed. Fans can watch these cute girls try to maintain a little normalcy while fighting to survive the zombie apocalypse.

Genre: Horror, School, Supernatural, Slice of life
