Superstore follows the daily struggles of employees working at the fictional chain Cloud 9. From extremely passionate managers to characters who really have no choice but to work there, Superstore has explored the uniqueness of retail.

You'll find Blockbuster feels very similar to the Superstore, but the latter works on a much smaller scale. However, they both offer similar types of characters. Both Eliza and Jonah are college dropouts, Cheyenne and Hannah are young airline workers, and Timmy and Amy have found themselves working the same jobs since high school.

While The Middle isn't an office comedy, it has a lot in common with Blockbuster as both shows take place in small towns. Both also highlighted the difficulties of sustaining life when money "doesn't come freely."

Adapted from the British series, The Office follows the employees of the Scranton, Pennsylvania branch of the Dunder Mifflin Paper Company. Headed by Michael Scott, employees never know what will happen in a workday and they often find themselves doing odd things to pass the time.

While Timmy doesn't match Michael Scott in terms of fun, the two share a shared love and devotion to their work and their employees. The Office and Blockbuster also have budding romantic relationships and a cast of characters who have big dreams beyond the "four walls".

Steve Carell returns to television to play General Mark R. Narid in the Netflix comedy Space Force. The film follows Mark and his colleagues as they are tasked with creating the first branch of the United States Armed Forces in space. Season 1 revolves around the team trying to set up a mission on the moon, while season 2 deals with the aftermath of that mission.

While the space scene of Space Force and the video store in Blockbuster may not have much in common, the people who work there do. Both Mark and Timmy are staunch people who don't always make the right decisions, but they always mean well.
