Ayashimon is the most attractive manga in 2022 that story nerds cannot ignore. The series revolves around Maruo Kaido, an avid manga fan who dreams of one day becoming a hero just like what he read. To achieve this, Maruo is constantly practicing the moves he sees in his favorite series. In the end, he was able to perform some spectacular feats, but no one seemed interested in hiring a hero. One day, Maruo caught a girl being harassed by some yakuza members. Seizing the opportunity to use his skills, he immediately saved her. However, the girl was not normal. She is actually an alien and a member of the supernatural yakuza gang. Impressed with Maruo's skills, she recruits him to join the gang, in order to help her control these people.
The Ayashimon manga combines elements from One-Punch Man, with a bit from Kaiju No. 8, to depict a hero's story from a criminal gang action perspective. Which means there's bound to be a lot of moral ambiguity that Maruo will have to face and overcome, aside from fighting the "bad guys" who are members of his team. Ayashimon presents a fresh take on the traditional manga plot.
