Blade Runner 2049 is a 2017 American science fiction film directed by Denis Villeneuve and written by Hampton Fancher and Michael Green. This is the sequel to the 1982 film Blade Runner, Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford take on the two main roles. Besides, there are also actors Ana de Armas, Sylvia Hoeks, Robin Wright, Mackenzie Davis, Carla Juri, Lennie James, Dave Bautista, and Jared Leto in supporting roles.

The director was initially assigned to Ridley Scott, but later moved to work as executive producer. Set thirty years after the timeline in the original Blade Runner, the story Clone Crime 2049 revolves around K, a Nexus-9 clone and also a Blade Runner, accidentally discovered reveal a shocking secret, an old clone once became pregnant and died in childbirth. To hide a secret that could lead to war between humans and clones, his superiors forced K to find the child and destroy all evidence related to it.

The idea for a Blade Runner sequel began to be rekindled in the 1990s, but copyright issues made the development of the idea difficult. However, later with the goal of increasing profits, Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson negotiated with the copyright owner of the work from Bud Yorkin. Filming was done mainly in two cities of Budapest, Hungary for a period of 4 months from July to November 2016. The film is financially supported by Alcon Entertainment - Sony Pictures and the tax reduction policy is funded by the Hungarian government. Warner Bros. - Representing Alcon in charge of distribution of works to the North American market, while Sony is in charge of international distribution.

Clone 2049 premiered in Los Angeles on October 3, 2017, then premiered in the US on October 6, 2017, and in Vietnam on October 20, 2017 in various formats. Experts have given many compliments to the work, especially the parts related to the director's acting ability, direction, cinematography, production design, and visual effects. Many critic sites also appreciated and listed the film as one of the best movies of 2017.

However, the film was not a commercial success, grossing just over $260 million at the box office against a production budget of $150-185 million. The film also received five nominations for the 90th Academy Awards, including wins in the categories of Best Cinematography and Best Visual Effects. The film also earned eight nominations at the 71st BAFTA Awards, including best director, and also won two categories for best cinematography and visual effects.
