Bodyslam was originally named La-On (meaning: child or young person). The group released their first album in 1997 under the Music Bugs label, in which Dai Rue Plao became a well-received song. In 2002, the group changed its name to Bodyslam with only 3 of the 6 remaining members initially at this time the music turned to the heavier rock genre.
