Kintaikyo Wooden Bridge is one of the most beautiful wooden bridges in Japan, considered a symbol of love and loyalty. It is located in the city of Iwakuni, in Yamaguchi Prefecture, southwestern Japan.

The bridge was first built in 1673 by the local lord known as Nagaakira Kikkawa, to connect the two sides of the Nishiki River. The original bridge had eight stone pillars lined with many wooden crossbars, and was built by skilled craftsmen from the Kintaikyo plains. However, after many repairs and renovations, the bridge now has only five stone pillars and seven crossbars.

Kintaikyo Wooden Bridge is designed in a traditional Japanese architectural style, mixing elegance and majesty. With warm wood colors, the bridge gives visitors a sense of peace and closeness to nature. Especially, in autumn, the bridge is covered with brilliant yellow leaves, creating a romantic and beautiful landscape.

Kintaikyo Wooden Bridge is not only a beautiful structure but also has historical and cultural value. It has experienced many battles and natural disasters, but has always been preserved and restored so that visitors can come here to visit and admire its beauty.

With its cultural and historical importance, Kintaikyo Wooden Bridge was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2015. This is one of the attractive destinations and not to be missed when traveling to Japan.
