Conception revolves around the story of Itsuki Yuuge - a high school student; on his graduation day, was asked to go to school by his relative and childhood friend Mahiru because she wanted to talk to him secretly. After reaching the roof, Mahiru told him something. Before he understood the situation, a portal of light suddenly appeared and brought them both into the world of Granvania.
In the new world, they learn that the land of Granvania is falling into chaos and disorder due to the sudden appearance of Impurities.
