Creeped Out is an anthology horror television series created by Bede Blake and Robert Butler as a co-production between CBBC Productions and DHX Media. Each episode has its own story and it's all linked together by 'The Curious', a mysterious story collector who appears at the beginning and end of each episode. According to creators Bede Blake and Robert Butler, inspiration was taken from Steven Spielberg and in particular Amazing Stories.
Creeped Out premiered in the United States as a Netflix original. This horror anthology features 23 different stories, all connected by the appearance of “The Curious,” a masked character who appears at the beginning and end of each episode.
“The Curious” collects Creeped Out stories and announces his arrival with a whistle. As a UK production, Creeped Out did not receive the international acclaim it deserved.
However, it has even won BAFTAs and other awards for young audiences. It may not be the scariest show on Netflix, but it's creepy enough to stay in viewers' minds for a few days.
Speaking of The Curious, co-writer Bede Blake said: "It's designed to be a burgeoning urban legend. You don't know what's behind that mask... According to the plot, he's "He's not a threat to the kids. He got his name because he's naturally curious. He's not someone who wants to do harm. He's an observer."
