Creux du Van, landscapes you should not miss
Creux du Van is a spectacular ring of natural rocks created by constant erosion of water and ice. It has a width of about 1,400 m and a depth of 150 m. It is famous like the "amphitheater" located in the Val de Travers district, in the Swiss canton of Neuchâtel. The regional climate of the "Creux du Van" is peculiar and unusual - here there are forests and arctic alpine flora . Chamois, ibex, lynx and many other wild animals live in untouched nature, protected by a 25-square-kilometer nature reserve. Especially the spring "Fontaine Froide", originating from a sinkhole, the water in this spring always keeps the temperature of 4 degrees Celsius all year round. Another natural wonder located in the vicinity is the Areuse Gorge between Noiraigue and Boudry. There is a rugged hiking path with countless steps.
