Gap Dong is a Korean drama that aired in 2014, based on the famous Hwaseong serial killer case in Korea. The film tells the story of a former police officer who becomes a suspect in a case and then commits suicide. His son, a young detective, is determined to exonerate his father and find the real murderer.

In 1986, a small town in South Korea was shaken by a series of serial murder cases. The victims were all young women, brutally raped and murdered. Police have been investigating the case for many years but have yet to find the culprit.

Former police officer Byung Soo (Sol Kyung Gu) was the main investigator in the case. He has the special ability to recall case details in detail, even after many years have passed. However, due to pressure from public opinion and from his own colleagues, Byung Soo gradually became crazy and eventually committed suicide.

Byung Soo's son, Joon Ho (Yoon Sang Hyun), is a young detective. He always believes that his father is innocent and is determined to find the real culprit. Joon Ho began reinvestigating the case and discovered many important clues.

The case becomes increasingly complicated when Joon Ho discovers that there are two murderers. One is Byung Soo, the other is a mysterious murderer nicknamed Gap Dong. Joon Ho faces many dangers as he tries to find Gap Dong and clear his father's name.
