Katsugeki Touken Ranbu
Katsugeki Touken Ranbu is a television anime series produced by Ufotable and directed by Toshiyuki Shirai, with music composed by Hideyuki Fukasawa. It is based on the video game Touken Ranbu. In 1863, when the era of the samurai was coming to an end, Japan was divided by two factions in favor of the shogunate and against the shogunate. The era heralded the end of the era of swords, when the forces of the Dao Mo sect and the Zuo Mo sect divided the world --- the Mo Mo period.
Horikawa Kunihiro, who has just become a Swordsman, is rushing down a mountain road in the rain, following Izuminokami Kanesada, who had been with him in birth and death when they were both masters. The Men of the Sword are essentially "Deputy Tang Gods", awakened by the false Shen Shen from the emotions contained within each sword. Their mission is to fight the "Retirement Army", an army from the future whose purpose is to change the course of history and protect "true history". Acquiring new comrades, Mutsunokami Yoshiyuki, Yagen Toushirou, Tonbokiri, and Tsurumaru Kuninaga, the two swords hurl themselves into the turbulence of the timeline and into battles with the Regression Army.
