Kimi ni Todoke (2023) is a Japanese television series, adapted from the manga of the same name by author Karuho Shiina. The film is a remake of the 2016 drama, starring Sara Minami as Sawako Kuronuma and Oji Suzuka as Shota Kazehaya.
The film is about Sawako Kuronuma, a high school girl with long black hair and a quiet personality. She was shunned by her friends at school and nicknamed "Sadako" because her hair was very similar to the appearance of the main character in the horror movie Ring (1998).
By chance, Sawako met Shota Kazehaya, a famous male student at school. Kazehaya is the first person in Sawako's life to actively talk to and care about her. Gradually, Sawako also begins to develop feelings for Kazehaya. However, she is hesitant because she is afraid that Kazehaya will not like her.
With the help of new friends, Sawako gradually becomes more open and confident. She also begins to learn how to express her feelings for Kazehaya. Finally, Sawako and Kazehaya get together.
