The Fake, Yeon Sang-ho's 2013 award-winning best Korean animated film is a scathing critique of organized religion. When a small town is about to be demolished to make way for a dam, church elder Choi Gyeong-seok arrives and promises to find new homes for the people here. But instead of providing real housing assistance, Choi simply took their money, with a grand plan to take all the resettlement funds. The only one who wasn't charmed by him was Kim Min-chul, a violent drunk with a bad reputation. When Choi forces Min-chul's daughter to sell her body, Min-chul tries to get Choi out of the way - but if no one believes him, how can he do it?
