The Heavenly Idol (VietSub) tells the story of Pontifex Lembrary (Kim Min-Kyu), considered by many to have the strongest divine power ever. While fighting against the devil, he was transported to another world. Pontifex Lembrary then finds herself in a small dormitory and possesses the body of Woo Yeon-Woo, a member of the unpopular idol group Wild Animal. The group has been active together for 3 years but is on the verge of disbanding because they have not achieved much success. Nine hours later, Pontifex Lembrary was put on stage with Wild Animal for a live performance at a television station. When the music started playing, Pontifex Lembrary, in Woo Yeon-Woo's body, shouted "I can't dance." The live performance was a disaster, but it caught the attention of people and the media. With his charms, including his confident demeanor, Woo Yeon-Woo, still possessed by the spirit of Pontifex Lembrary, became famous and so did his group of Wildlife. Pontifex Lembrary must now adjust to life as a member of an idol group and he must face various troubles, such as dealing with strange religious groups and demons.
