Taylor Swift - Lover
Lover is the seventh studio album by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. It was released on August 23, 2019 by Republic Records. As executive producer, Swift collaborated with producers such as Jack Antonoff, Joel Little, Louis Bell, Frank Dukes and Soundwave to create the album. Described by Swift as a "love letter to love itself", Lover celebrates the ups and downs of love and contains a brighter, more exhilarating shade than the somber tone of the previous album, Reputation (2017). Musically, it is a pop, pop rock, electropop and synth-pop record with influences from country music, dream pop, pop punk, funk and R&B.
Lover contains Panic's Dixie Chicks and Brendon Urie collaborations! at the Disco. Three singles were released from the album, including "Me!", "You Need to Calm Down" and the album's title track, of which the first two were global top 5 hits. The album received generally positive reviews from critics, praising Swift's songwriting ability to convey emotional maturity and honesty. However, there are some critics who consider it too long and contradictory in some places.
