Batman R.I.P. is Grant Morrison's good comic about Batman's ultimate adventures. The story takes a bit of a ride, as Batman takes on the new villain in Doctor Hurt, who not only finds out who he is, but also seeks to destroy Bruce's mind.
However, that doesn't last too long, as Bruce has a completely alternate personality that is Batman. This version of Bruce can take down the "villains club", even defeating the Joker. The problem with such a plot is that it's too complicated to be a standard movie.
