Better Days is a film adapted from the novel "You and I's Childhood" by author Cuu Nguyet Hi. The film is not about the beautiful and pure love of youth but is a mirror of the naked reality, the painful problems at school and at home. The opening scene of the film is the death scene of Ho Tieu Diep - a victim of school violence that Tran Niem (Chau Dong Vu) became the next unlucky victim because of his coat to cover his friend. Her family and school circumstances leave her seemingly at a standstill. As fate has arranged, she meets Tieu Bac (Dich Duong Thien Ti) - a delinquent who is used to fighting. Tran Niem saved him once, he decided to protect her for the rest of his life. The love story in the film is even more meaningful when viewers witness a love full of silent sacrifices of the two main characters. In one accident, Tran Niem pushed down Wei Lai - who plotted to bully her and Ho Tieu Diep. The film touches the reader's heart even more when Tieu Bac stands to confess on behalf of Tran Niem, denying the relationship between the two. The ending makes the reader regret a love so noble and beautiful and also hope for a bright future later for the two characters.
