Doctor John is a film adapted from the Japanese novel series - On Hand of Godby by writer Yo Kusakabe. The film tells the story of Cha Yo Han (Ji Sung) a genius anesthesiologist full of confidence and arrogance. Dubbed the "10-second doctor", he was able to "read" a patient's pain and know how to treat it. However, he has an arrogant personality that looks down on others. In a case of negligence that killed a patient, Yo Han had to go to prison to pay the price for his work.
There, he meets a young girl named Kang Shi Young (Lee Se Young). Shi Young was originally an anesthesiologist, but after a medical incident, Shi Young suffered a psychological trauma and promised herself that she would never wear a white blouse again! Yo Han and Shi Young become reluctant partners, working together to save patients in dangerous situations.
