For its stylized, ostentatious architecture alone, Gosick would rank among the best gothic-style anime, but on the other hand it offers so much more.Victorique de Blois, a strange doll-like girl whom protagonist Kazuya befriends in the library. Her loli goth fashion became the norm, and at the same time her personality was interesting. The actual story tells of a series of classic detective cases interspersed with some plot twists of a slice nature, just fitting the overall atmosphere filled with intrigue. Gosick is a smooth Victorian tale and never goes overboard in its own way.
