In the main storyline, the human crime lord, Negative has staged a conspiracy to gain control over the underworld of the crime of New York City. When his Negative threatens to release a deadly virus, the Spider-Man must face him and defend the city while dealing with the personal problems of his civilian character, Peter Parker.
