Just 24 km north of Nagoya city centre, the Meiji-Mura village Museum in Inuyama is an outdoor museum with many typical examples of Japanese architecture from the Meiji period 1868 to 1912. All said, this site consists of over 60 buildings of interest that are brought here and gathered together from around the country, including prisons, post Office, baths, churches and homes, many of whom are influenced by design elements from Western nations. Many buildings open to the public and interior houses, temporary exhibitions and other items related to the respective buildings, and tram and bus service (as well as classic steamboat). Especially interested is the element of the old Imperial Hotel, a unique design created by the famous American architect Frank Lloyd Wright.
