The movie My ID is Gangnam Beauty tells the story of Kang Mi-rae, a young girl born with an ugly appearance. She went through years of being bullied and teased because of her appearance.
To escape social stigma, Mi-rae decided to have cosmetic surgery. She has become a beauty with a perfect face.
Mi-rae starts a new life at university, but she is still afraid of others finding out her secret. She lives alone and just tries to blend in with everyone.
At university, Mi-rae meets Do Kyung-seok, a handsome and kind man. Kyung-seok does not care about Mi-rae's appearance and always treats her sincerely.
Gradually, Mi-rae begins to open up to Kyung-seok. She also realized that she did not need to change her appearance to be loved by everyone.
