Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom is a survival anime that aired in the spring of 2009 on TV Tokyo with a total of 26 episodes. This survival anime is an anime series produced by Bee Train and directed by Koichi Mashimo of the Project Phantom team. The Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom anime series itself is based on a game called Phantom of Inferno, on the PlayStation 2 and Xbox in Japan. The film tells the story of a Japanese citizen who is kidnapped by an assassin organization called Inferno after witnessing the assassination with his own eyes while visiting the United States. Inferno itself is the criminal organization that tries to unite all the mafia gangs of the underworld into one corporation. To that end, Inferno launches an assassin campaign codenamed Phantom. Among them exists an amnesiac girl named Ein, a Japanese citizen who was codenamed Zwei after he was brainwashed. Besides being adapted into a 26-episode television series, the series has also adapted into several OVAs.
