To All The Boys I've Loved Before is an American teen romance film series, based on a trilogy of novels of the same name written by Jenny Han. Lara Jean Song Covey is a 16-year-old high school student who enjoys fantasizing about romance, but is really afraid of having a real romantic relationship. In previous years, she had written love letters to the boys she had secretly loved, but never sent them.
Feeling life is passing by in vain, her sister Kitty sends all of Lara Jean's letters to the people who have supported her in her past, leading to many awkward confrontations with boys. Among them is Josh Sanderson, her friend, who is also Margot's sister's ex-boyfriend. Peter Kavinsky, whom she has liked since seventh grade, seizes the opportunity to make his ex-girlfriend, Gen, jealous by asking Lara Jean to pose as his fake girlfriend.
