Vinland Saga (ヴィンランド・サガ), an epic adventure anime series especially popular overseas, has returned in early 2023. After the first 2019 anime adaptation based on the serialized original manga from 2005, the new season was made by Mappa, also famous for Chainsaw Man and Jujutsu Kaisen. The second installment enters a new story that follows young Viking protagonist Thorfinn, who has lost his purpose in life after his sworn nemesis Askeladd dies.
