Bakuman
Bakuman is a 2015 Japanese film directed by Hitoshi Ōne, based on the manga of the same name by Tsugumi Ohba. It's the story of two young manga artists trying to break into the competitive world of manga (comics) in Japan. Bakuman is produced by Minami Ichikawa and written by Hitoshi Ōne. The film stars Ryûnosuke Kamiki, Nana Komatsu and Takeru Satoh, Hirofumi Arai, Lily Franky with music by the band Sakanaction. The film screened during the Japanese Film Festivals in Sydney and Melbourne, 2015.
Schoolmates Moritaka (Takeru Satoh) and Akito (Ryûnosuke Kamiki), one an illustrator and the other a writer, decide to join forces to create a successful manga. Moritaka wishes to impress a schoolgirl Miho (Nana Komatsu), whom he promises to allow her to voice an anime adaptation, once the manga becomes popular. The two befriended a group of four manga creators who entered a competition together. When their rival Eiji Niizuma (Shôta Sometani) defeats them in the competition, they swear to be better than him. The two vowed to beat rival Eiji to become the first to top the sales ranking list.
