ContentsHikari no Ou takes place after humanity's last war. The world is enveloped by a black forest and humans have been infected with pathogens that cause them to ignite when there is natural fire. The only safe source of fire can be obtained by hunting black beasts, Flame Spirits, that live deep in the forest. Among fire hunters, rumors of the "King of Fire Hunting" began circulating recently—an individual who could harvest an artificial star, the millennium comet that once roamed the void.
The story revolves around Touko, a girl who grew up in the village, and Koushi, a former student in the capital. The meeting between the two, who supposedly did not cross paths, will change the fate of the world.
