Chan Cang Sinh, commonly known by his stage name Jackie Chan, is a Hong Kong male martial artist, actor, stuntman, filmmaker, action choreographer and singer. He is well known in the movie world for his fun fighting style, improvised weapons use and stunts that he often performs on his own. He trained in Wushu, Kung Fu and Hapkido, and has been in acting since the 1960s, appearing in over 150 films.

In the late 1980s and early 90s, Jackie Chan starred in a number of successful film series, beginning with Police Story 2, which won Best Martial Arts Directing in the Film Awards. Hong Kong in 1989. His next films were Long Brothers and Tigers II: The Falcon Plan, and Police Story 3, for which he won the Golden Horse Film Festival's Best Actor award. In 1994, Jackie Chan reprized his role as Wong Fei-Hong in Tzuyu II, which was listed as one of Time Magazine's 100 Greatest Movies of All Time. Another movie sequel, Police Story 4: Simple Mission, brought him additional awards and success at domestic cinema, although it was not well received in foreign markets. Jackie Chan rekindled his Hollywood target in the 1990s, but initially turned down offers to play villains in Hollywood films to avoid precedent for later roles. For example, Sylvester Stallone offered him the role of Simon Phoenix, a criminal in the futuristic fantasy film Demolition Man. Jackie Chan turned it down and the role was played by Wesley Snipes.
