Stephen Chow (born 22 June 1962) is a Hong Kong actor, director, screenwriter and producer. He is also a political advisor of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.

Stephen Chow graduated from TVB's acting class in 1982 and entered the entertainment industry as the host of TVB's children's show 430 Shuttle. For more than 5 years, he also acted in a number of TVB dramas, but none of them stood out and Chau remained an unremarkable actor. The turning point in Stephen Chow's acting career came when he participated in the film Final Justice - Pioneer Calendar (1988). In this film, Stephen Chow plays Boy, a car thief and idol of a corrupt judge who has just been released from prison. This is Chow's first time acting in a movie with many acting roles after many years as an MC and playing the role of a corpse, but he also won the Golden Horse Award for best supporting role and was nominated for 2 awards. Hong Kong Best Supporting Actor" and "Hong Kong Best Newcomer".

Since 1994, Chau has started writing and directing a number of films himself. The film Shaolin Football Team broke the box office record in Hong Kong in 2001, this record was again surpassed by Chow's follow-up film, 2004's Kung Fu Ultimate.
