Jaipur City (India)
Jaipur is the capital and largest city in the state of Rajasthan in western India, founded in 1727 by Rajput Jai Singh II, who dominated Amer, and is the person from which the city was named. It is one of the earliest planned cities of modern India, designed by Vidyadhar Bhattacharya. Jaipur is a popular tourist spot of India and is part of the Golden Triangle of India's western tourist circuit. Jaipur is also known as the "Pink City" where it is considered "the land of emperors and Colors" in India. It is named as a new World Heritage SITE because of its outstanding architectural and planning values, which have been highlighted in the late medieval period.
