Killer of The Moon (2023) is an epic crime film, based on true events, about the Osage massacre in the Osage autonomous region of America in the 1920s.
In it, the Osage people face tragedy and injustice while becoming rich thanks to oil on the Oklahoma reservation. Ernest Burkhart (Leonardo DiCaprio), has just returned from World War I and is accidentally drawn into a brutal plot masterminded by William Hale (Robert De Niro). On the outside, he was a good person, but later, he orchestrated the murder of the Osage.
As violence escalated and corruption and racism overwhelmed Osagem, more riots began to break out in Tulsa as well. Although Ernest cooperated with authorities against Hale, the perpetrator's fate remains a subject of debate.
In the film, Brendan Fraser plays W.S.Hamilton, Hale's lawyer. Fraser's performance has been a topic of discussion on social media since the film's release. While fans were divided about Brendan's performance, director Scorsese defended the Oscar-winning actor. The filmmaker repeatedly praised Fraser's role as lawyer WS Hamilton and added that he enjoyed working with the actor.
