According to the American customs, on Thanksgiving Day, Turkey is a characteristic dish indispensable. In 1863, however, Abraham Lincoln was said to be the first president to "confess" Turkey, as he dropped the chicken for Thanksgiving and allowed his son to feed it.
In 1963, President Kennedy also released the turkey "served" in the Thanksgiving of the White House back to the farm. Since then, the U.S. Presidents of the United States later dropped the chickens out of the zoo instead of eating them. And the crime ceremony became an official event in 1989, when President George H.W. Bush claimed the Turkey that year was "President of the remission of sins" and a unique tradition was born.
