James Wan's exorcism film The Conjuring focuses on possession performed by the demon god Bathseba Sherman, but the villain Annabelle steals this. The concept behind the doll as a kind of conduit for an evil entity isn't bad, but it has made it difficult to focus too much on this creepy toy but thankfully The Conjuring hasn't been able to break it yet.Although there is only one scene, the Annabelle doll has a whole trilogy of spinoffs. In fact, the third installment, Annabelle Comes Home, is a film that clearly pays tribute to Annabelle's potential sequels. Even in the context of The Conjuring, Annabelle's attack becomes a distraction, breaking Bathseba's hauntingly tense atmosphere.
