Set during the Industrial Revolution, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress is often referred to as the steampunk version of Attack on Titan, with indestructible monsters known as Kabane instead of titans. The most obvious reason for this comparison is the fact that Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress protects humanity from Kabane with huge stations and walls.
When a steam train is hijacked by Kabane and crashes into one of the stations, a young engineer named Ikoma creates a weapon that can kill these monsters. This has life-changing effects, as the young hero emerges to save the world from non-living predators.
