Le Thu is a famous singer, one of the biggest vocalists of Vietnamese new music. Although Le Thu's singing is not associated with any musician, she is a very successful performer of many songs by Pham Duy, Cung Tien, Doan Chuan, Trinh Cong Son, Pham Dinh Chuong, Truong Sa... like many other pre-war songs and love songs from 1954-1975.

Le Thu gradually became famous and became an important singer of big discos in Saigon. During the years 1968 to 1971, Le Thu's singing was one of the factors that brought guests to the Queen Bee, Tu Do and Ritz discos. In 1968, Le Thu returned to collaborate with the Jo Marcel program at Queen Bee discotheque. In addition to singing every night, she also signed a recording contract with Jo Marcel, starting the most golden period in her singing life. In mid-1969, Le Thu and the program Jo Marcel moved to the Ritz discotheque on Tran Hung Dao street. In 1970, Le Thu returned to Tu Do discotheque until it exploded more than a year later.

Le Thu participated in music programs on Saigon radio stations, Military radio stations and Mother Vietnam and recorded for many music tapes. Along with Khanh Ly, Thai Thanh, Le Thu was one of the most famous singers of Saigon until 1975. After the first marriage broke down, Le Thu married journalist Hong Duong, but the two broke up after their first marriage broke down. has a daughter named Thu Uyen.

During the events of April 1975, Le Thu decided to stay in Vietnam because she still had her mother, although on April 28 she went to the airport, walked to the plane, but then returned. Le Thu joined the Kim Cuong troupe to perform. At that time, Le Thu sang new songs and also had successes such as the song "Hanoi of faith and hope" by Phan Nhan. Around 1978, Le Thu opened a coffee shop named after her youngest daughter Thu Uyen on Phan Ton Street, Tan Dinh with the collaboration of Thanh Lan and musician Le Van Thien.

In November 1979, Le Thu and her youngest daughter crossed the sea to Pulau Bidong, then to the US in mid-1980. Two years later, Le Thu's two eldest daughters also crossed the border and reunited with Le Thu in Southern California.

In the United States, Le Thu continued to sing and reunited with the audience in a special performance held by Nam Loc at Beverley Hills. Then she collaborated with discos such as Tu Do, Lang Van and Maxim's. In 1981, Le Thu made her first music tape abroad called Singing on the road to death.
