My Week with Marilyn is based on the memoir of the same name by Colin Clark, about the time he worked on the set of the 1957 movie The Prince and the Showgirl and had a memorable week with Marilyn Monroe.
The plot revolves around Colin Clark (Eddie Redmayne), a young man who is passionate about cinema and wishes to work in the industry. He had the opportunity to work in the production team of director Laurence Olivier (Kenneth Branagh) in the movie The Prince and the Showgirl, in which Marilyn Monroe (Michelle Williams) participated in the female lead role. During this time, Marilyn was an international star sought after by many people.
While working together, Colin quickly became Marilyn's sympathetic friend and helped her escape Olivier's oppression. They spend an exciting and unforgettable week as Colin helps Marilyn find temporary relief from her frustrating and stressful life.
